Default Silly Rabbit(s),...

straight stocked 16s are for birds. A parody of a cereal commercial in my younger days. Remember it? One with the cylinder right barrel, the other with the I.M. left on a 2 for 2 day. Thank goodness for double trigger guns for no one can move a selector quickly enough on a running rabbit.

Jerry, what can you tell us about your gin’s initial plate on the toe line of the stock? It doesn’t look like a standard Parker plate.

My wife is really a good sport when it comes to eating game. It doesn't matter if it's duck, deer or anything in-between. Not long ago I texted her that we were having rabbit for supper the following night. Her response was that no we were not because she does not eat rabbit. I guess that's why I hadn't hunted rabbit in almost 30 years. I do have a friend who's wife won't eat dove, but loves rabbit. I suggested a wife swap. You can guess how that went over.

If it's in the cabinet, shoot it.

Dean,

I don't have a letter, but there is no sign of the standard round one you expect to find. The inletting is perfectly executed. It is a square/four point diamond. The stock is original. It does not appear to have ever been refinished.

Those look like big bunnnies...are they regular cottentails, or swamp rabbits.

Mark,

They were actually both young cottontail rabbits. The dogs ran the first one about two hours in pines about as tall as your head. Hard to see as he would run right by you at ten yards and you would never see him. Happened more than once. He was like Buggs Bunny and I was Elmer Fudd.
