I dunno but I’d think they’d be considered vermin . But again I’ve not hunted anything in Maryland in over five years .

Yes. Sometimes all ducks or all pheasants or chukars. Sometimes mixed. You can even schedule a private shoot with some of your buddies for whatever you want.

You're thinking Baltimore City, unless you are referring to the politicians.

The Baltimore area club is First Mine Run. The West Virginia club is Prospect Hall. They are no secret, with shoots open to the invited public. However, Prospect Hall's shoots are generally not run by Prospect Hall. Invited public means an invitation through a member or the organization running the shoot.

Both are great facilities and shoots, but the operative word here is invited (e.g, reservation fees are taken beforehand and there are no walk-ons). Prospect Hall is currently under a 14-day lockdown (*quarantine") due to a member of the staff testing positive for COVID-19 very recently. Don't know about the status of First Mine Run but Daryl ("Double Lab") can clarify that for those interested.

1 3/4 - 2 ounces of shot to kill a pen raised pheasant? What the heck? I've never seen the need for over 1 1/8 ounces of mid-sized lead shot with sufficient choke for tower thrown pheasants.
If I ever ran a tower shoot I wouldn't allow over 1 1/4 ounce. Shot fall is a real concern when you're shooting across the "circle" from someone possibly throwing 2 ounces of #4s up in the air. I'm not trying to start an argument, or chastise anyone, but shot fall is something that needs to be considered at these type shoots. I sure wouldn't want to be across from someone shooting loads like that. SRH |
