Default First Parker 28 ga.

You many have seen this gun floating around the internet lately or at least on GunBroker as a fake listing. I went and saw it yesterday in person with Edgar from the actual seller. It is a “0” frame 28 gauge VH with 26” barrels choked full/full. This was a nice way for me to get into a Parker 28 Gauge.

Made in 1903 this gun was restored by DelGrego at some point. The butt stock was replaced during the restoration. I will tone down those case colors soon.

The LOP is short at 13 ½”, which may have been a deal breaker on any other gun. However, I really wanted a 28 gauge and a slip on pad with a felt spacer inside brings the LOP out to 14 ¼ which is perfect for me with a pistol grip stock. This works for now, though I want to come up with a better more permanent solution.

I shot it around 100 times today and was enjoying every second. I didn't miss much even with tight chokes…it is a fun gun.

Somewhere I heard the story that the Brothers P had a goodly number of 0-frame 20-gauge guns languishing in inventory and came up with this brainstorm to fit them with 28-gauge barrels and start a new marketing push to sell customers a gun in a gauge they didn't have. Any validity to this? Olde wives tale?

You paid too much Jay. You could have gotten the same gun elsewhere for a lot less money. Lol.

Yes, that would have been nice if I could have gotten it at the GunBroker price!

Very nice and congrats !

I got my first and most likely only Parker 28 gauge two or three years ago from a Poulin auction . Mine's also an 0 frame 26 inch F&F VH . Thats THE only gun I've used for quail over the last couple seasons .

I'd love to acquire another on a 00 frame but if I don't im not going to loose any sleep over it
