Default Barrel bluing

My recent 28 Ga. just arrived. I am very pleased with it. 26" Q1 Q2. I paid what I would expect is the high side of market as there was no case but I have been looking for one for a while now. Single trigger, splinter.

What I noticed is, when I put it next to my 20, the barrel blue is clearly more matted than the 20. The lettering is pronounced so I would not be convinced that this is for any reason re-blued.

Has anyone with multiple PR's noticed a difference in bluing tone? The color is exactly the same, just the 20 is more reflective. The underlying polish is just a little coarser on the 28.

Thanks

Ryan

Just noticed something, the blued areas on bottom of the chambers are the opposite of my 20? Anyone see this before?

My guess is that your 28ga. bbls. have been reblued.

I agree, I believe the 28 has been redone.

Pics aren't the greatest but I agree. It was a nice job, if I did not have one to compare it to I would have probably never noticed. The other thing that stands out is the lack of evidence of the forend leavine a mark. Just about anything with a forend seems to maybe not wear the blue off as much as alter it's hue. This is also the case on my 20.

Waiting on the seller to contact me this morning.
