Default Question for anyone living in Southern Ill. re Carmi area

I own a Parker that was shipped to Carmi Il. in 1905. Question: Was this traditionally a waterfowl hunting area?? It is east of St. Louis between the Ohio and Mississippi on the Little Wabash river. I know all about the Illinois River duck hunting but what about southern Illinois? Can you direct me to any literature about the duck hunting in the area at the turn of the 20th century. Thanks Craig Larter

Yes I agree... Grew up in Southern Illinois and it was great for quail and ducks in those days...Destry has more of a feel than I...but Grandad hunted it all with his BH!!....

Carmi isn't far off the Ohio and Wabash Rivers, I'm sure there was decent waterfowling in those areas. That's a little north of my home base so I don't know a lot of history from up there.
