Default Another project 🤔

Well I’m stuck at home like most of you? Bored out of my mind. So here’s a LC Smith 20 ga field with extractors and 30” barrels I bought from Marks Born Again Bird guns. Had it restocked, engraved, case colored. She’s choked tight but shoots well!

Being bored is expensive.

One advantage of the virus if you want to look at in a positive light is that I'm catching up on a lot of reloading. I have enough centerfire ammo loaded to start a war with a third world country. I'm always putting off the deer rifles until just before season but not this year. Today is the 450-400 NE and a 300 Savage.. Afterwards a little time spent with Ruark is on the agenda.

Rich,
Just a friendly warning, and I know you already are aware, but a little time with Mr. Use Enough Gun can get wheels turning. My friends in Zim are telling me most trips are getting rescheduled.

I haven't shot my 450/400 in a long time. Kind of over kill for a whitetail deer.

Wayne I'm working up a reduced load for it so I can use it on deer. I've been successful with a 375 and a 416 Taylor doing this. My 270 will tear up a deer worse than the big bores. You can eat right up to the hole.

Mine is a double Manton. Been meaning to do the same thing just haven't got around to it in the last half a dozen years. But I did work up a cast load for the 577 and the 416 rigby.

Rich, I worked up a 450/400 load with 210 grain 41 Magnum pistol bullets and velocity. I can't remember what powder I used, maybe 4227 or 2400. I got "close enough" regulation to make a fun walk around the farm plinking double. Sadly for me the owner came back over the mountains and took his gun home.
