Ya'll are ignoring the remarkable results of using an off-shore oil/cleaner from Germany called Balistol. It is more than a hundred years old and is remarkable in its ability to remove rust and other oxides with out abrasive help. It is readily available and I have used it to treat entire collections of firearms with stunning results. Try it! David
