Default Redheads on Canandaigua Lake

Here is a picture of redheads on Canandaigua Lake here in western NY 1/30/2014.
This is my hunting partners lake home---notice the blind on the end of the dock. I see a few bluebills also.

We had a bunch of diver hunters from Vermont with three boats hunting lake Ontario at the outlet of irondequoit bay. They had great success for a week. I understand the Niagara river off grand island was also great this year late season for divers. If you have a lake type duck boat diver hunting can be very good.

The second season in our western zone ran from 12-28 to 1-12-14.
The colder the better in these parts for diver hunting---like this year.
As you know you really need to be geared up for it on the big lakes---it is not for the faint of heart.
