Default Brutus up a tree !

Made it out this afternoon for a three hour sit . Carried Brutus stuffed with homemade 000000 buckshot and my little Mannlicher Schoenauer MC carbine in 6.5x54 MS . At this spot I can’t get up as high as I usually like but still get up about 25 feet . Day was very Pleasent but no see uhms and no shoot uhms

I’ll admit sometimes back then I’d take a book with me . And I’m
Not gonna lie I’ve been known to take some pretty decent naps perched up on the side of a tree

If I leave the house and drive north towards my hunting area I lose cell service in around 5 minutes. Some days that feels bad, other days great!

Back in the same spot this morning . Saw a spike about 07:45 but he was about 70 yards away and I don’t think I could’ve gotten a bullet to him . It’s 08:30 now think I’ll hang in there for another 60-90 minutes .

I remember many years or decades ago, on an island on the Upper Potomac, gunning with a friend who owned about the first portable phone thingy. He would report in every duck we called in. It is amazing what we take for granted today. Some guys follow the Rock Island bidding while in the field. I won't mention any names.
