Default Altamaha Swamp

Some photos from turkey hunting this past weekend. No turkeys, but you can't beat the scenery.

This road was underwater last weekend

Cypress knees

8 gauge disguised as camo Benelli

Note old railroad rails going through swamp. See them going across water. Probably left over from timber days

Mills: Is this area close to a community named Cox? Seeing the railroad rails is the reason I ask. Bob

Mills: Amazing. When I showed my nephew your post with photos he was very positive of your location. It is only about 2 miles as the crow flies from his fish camp off Old Barrington Road. Bob

Looks like a good habitat for some cotton mouths, ever see them hanging from tree limbs over the water, had them drop in my boat before, they are very aggressive! Gary

No cotton mouths seen, but I am sure they are there. I can't stand them

I wear snake boots while turkey hunting as routine procedure.

Mills. Small world. I was amazed that he could pick out a small area in such a huge swamp. Cottonmouths, rattlers and gators. Smart of you to wear protection in warm weather. Bob
