Default Fox

Mike thanks but I feel pretty comfortable with the information provided here and what I have been able to glean on my own this past week. I also have been to other auctions conducted by this auctioneer and know some of his tricks.

Default Fox auction

Todays auction.
I looked over the Fox 20 ga. before the auction.
The serial number was 202296 (not the number I was given a few days earlier). The barrels were 32 inch with 2 1/2 inch chambers and ejectors. The serial numbers matched all around. On the water table there was only the serial number. No grade stamp. The engraving was sparse. Not at all like post 1914 typical.

The auctioneer started at $1000 when a guy in the back yelled out $8000. It quickly went to $11000 and sold. I was not the buyer. What did I miss?

Only, financial ruin, an addiction unlike any other and The CZAR's 20b Super Fox!!

I have a list of the usual suspects but would love a detailed description of the mystery man seated in the back row.

Good that you clarified that serial number. Fox 202296 is listed as one of about (sixty) 20-gauge Super-Fox guns made, in the SF chapter of MM's Fox book, page 230. Shipped on 11/26/25.

I have to get McIntoshs' Fox Guns book. Was working with his "best Guns" book.
