Eric asks a valid question. Starting at the butt plate forward not much originality I can see.

A total restoration IMO.

Looks to me like a Remington era stock. Didn't get that kind of wood on a VH-Grade from Parker Bros. VH wood from the Brothers P was more like this --
235178 05 1930 20-ga VH-Grade stock right.jpg The fluting of the comb on the gun in question doesn't look like anything I've seen from Meriden or Ilion!! |

The barrels appear to have been aggressively carded, the edge of the barrels at the breech are broomed round,

That is a Delgrego gun. The buttstock screams Delgrego with that comb and the shape of the cheeks. Recently done.
OR a recent freshening up of an older Delgrego restored gun. I think maybe the latter. Turnbull colors Delgrego's guns currently. No more tiger stripes. But the colors do not quote look right for Turnbull colors. But I could be wrong. But the buttstock is Delgrego all the way.

Oh my, I hope the owner did not pay the price that gun would command if it were original in that condition. There's that old adage again, "being educated vs being taught a lesson".
