I used to shoot at a facility that had a similar course. The shooter walked down a path through the wooded area. Hidden along the trail were garage door electric eyes that would trigger the trap(s) when the shooter passed through. It was so close to the real thing. The sensors were well hidden but that did not deter guys from watching the ground trying to locate them prior to the release. Yep, watch the ground and the bird will be long gone before your eyes can locate it. Unfortunately, it took a long time to get shooters through the course so it was not practical from a commercial standpoint.

For quite a few years, I've done a research letter for the Ruffed Grouse Society. One of their members donates a Parker every year to be raffled off at their annual meeting of the Allegheny Chapter in Altoona Pa. They invited me to one of their banquets in Altoona a few years ago, it was a huge event.
