Default Kansas bird hunt...new CSMC Fox XE-Spl.

Two shots two birds...I like my new gun!!! The hunt is going well. We are finding birds but not in all our regular spots. Numbers are still down overall but in good spots numbers seem normal. Just less good spots to hunt this year. We quite early today as the wind kicked up and we could use a little rest. Soon it will be cold drink time in Kansas...SXS ohio

Aren't there still a lot of "dry" counties in Kansas?

No , but there remain a few dry counties without liquor by the drink. Grocery stores will have alcohol in those counties.

Less birds left as of today...(-: We both got three roosters and my bud also got two quail. The covey blue up in my face!...I never knew what happened till it was over...I was not ready for quail!

Looks like a good trip is underway, Kenny! That's great. You deserve some good times afield after having to cut your Wisconsin grouse trip short earlier this year.

Thanks again for the time spent in your shop last week. I enjoyed the conversation, and learned a lot, too!

Safe travels, my friend.

Dave

Hey....Ken How did your Kansas hunt go? I hope well and worthwhile. We did leave some birds for you! Me and Steve and the three dogs had a great time and booked our room for next year. Six days of hunting took its toll, we were all limping and hobbling around and ready to come home. If the weather is good bird numbers will be way better next year too.....(-: SXS Ohio

Kenny,

I've been finding a few birds out there. I'm close enough to drive over for 1 or 2 day weekend hunts. However, the further east I go the less birds I see. Belle isn't 3 yet and this is her 3rd season. The birds are still spotty in places, but it is fun to get out there.

Glad to hear you had a good trip and broke in your new Fox!
