Default nesting

i was working with grandkids today in the hay field. it was hotter blazesout there.we were about wore out then all of a sudden up jumps a turkey hen.flew just a few steps.i she was beautiful in flight.i wondered why she did not fly so far. i wondered no longer she had anestshe was setting on.kind of late for her to be nesting here in miss.will watch her closley to see how she does. charlie

I was looking at some property last Friday, and saw a hen turkey with 9 (that I could count) chicks, probably 2 or 3 days old, saw three more jakes together, and another lonely hen. I have heard a report of some baby grouse that I hope is true and there's many more.
