I do take it easy in mine, but have enjoyed shooting an early Parker with decarbonized steel barrels. I have shot light smokeless reloads and RST ultralights that were 3/4 oz. And I have shot a square loads of black powder 2 1/2 ff and 1oz.

This is Parker#171 shooting clays pretty well with black powder shells(posted previously in a different thread): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKlsXZeBemQ

Don't let the perceived lower quality of decarbonized barrels stop you from getting a great Parker

A well-known and respected gunsmith member here had mine at the Southern a few years ago for a hammer gun display. I was admiring it and he mentioned it was for sale and named a very reasonable price. He also said it was safe to shoot and he had shot it with RST 1 oz. That was an easy and quick buying decision.
