Default G grade recommendation

Presented in the interest of aid to new Parker shooters and collectors. Experienced Parker people will find this old information.

Of all Parkers, a good recommendation for new collectors or those looking for a good gun, is a G grade. They were made in all gauges but most available are the 30" Damascus 2 frame 12 gauges. These weigh 7 1/4 to 7 3/4 lbs and are fine all around guns. Here is a complete one that has not been altered at either end. This one is an ejector model, though most were extractor. I use it for waterfowl and for late season pheasant hunting. Most are choked full and full. They are fully competent for up to heavy loads unless loose or bored thin.

They are available so if you find one with troubles, pass it by because another will pop up. They can usually be found at reasonable cost.

I believe that these GH's were the guns that did the most to create the reputation of Parker as a shooter's gun. For the upland hunter, a 16 ga G may be the better choice and those are also available, though more costly and hard to find today.

Bruce
Sage advise! A lot of gun for a reasonable amount of money. I just sold a nice one for a friend for $1,273.
Happy New Year

Default G grade

Bruce I seem to have collected a few of these they seem most affordable and some really have nice wood. lots of damascus ones out there and you are right I have a 2 frame 12 that digests 1 5/8 oz mag loads in damascus barrels and turkeys never know what hits them!!! Thanks for your wise comments on these fine guns. About to turn in an article for PP hunting with Parkers on the King Ranch in deep South Tx.Best David
