Maybe this gun's ejector problems was the reason for the radiused angle of the foot of the ejector hammers.

I would say that fellow is extremely hard on his equipment.

Makes me wonder if that's where the expression came from.

The gun was likely shot to hell. Note the recolderingz of the frond loop on the second return. The loop will loosen with high volume shooting when the heat of the barrels and force on the lug from opening and closing the gun loosens the solder joint.
