Greetings from another New Guy

Gentlemen, thank you for being here.
I found you after rediscovering my Parker Trojan 20 ga.
My brother-in-law took me out shooting sporting clays on Saturday (overdue bday present) since I had not done anything of the sort for 5 or 6 years. Yes, I was horrible and could have been beaten by a blind man.
BUT; it was wonderful, after using his Remington semi-automatic I decided to find the shotgun my grandfather had given me nearly 40 years ago.
My poor Parker has not had a case or any love for far too long. I have a thousand questions and will enjoy this site as I seek to rejuvenate my lil ole Parker.

We all really enjoy pictures ,would love to see your Parker ,you are a very lucky fella to have your Grand Dads Parker ,I inherited a couple of my Paps guns and wouldn't sell or trade them for the world ,just sad to say ,no Parkers ! Russ

Stu: Ditto on the welcome. Here are two pictures that you will find useful if you are doing it yourself. If so, don't go near your gun with any old screwdrivers you have kicking around. If you do not have hollow ground tips and a good selection from thin to thick blades and narrow to wide widths you run the risk of damaging a family treasure. Check my albums on Second Chance Gun and you will see what can be done (still a work in progress) by an average guy with some good screw drivers, some drift punches (brass/nylon preferred) a small hammer and a short length of 1/4 " dowel as a gentle persuader to remove the trigger plate. As Russ said, feed us some pictures when you get a chance. The schematic is for a Trojan.

Thanks, I have a neighbor who is quite the enthusiast in all things GUN. I allowed him to look over my Trojan and noticed some slightly damaged screw slots. Jack, where were you when I needed you.
I am hopeful someone here will recommend a qualified Parker specialist for me to get my treasure evaluated for value, and to see if I can still use it for sporting clays. ( I will have to get MUCH better to rate owning the Parker)

Hi Stu,
Don't worry too much about its value. With a couple of buggered screws and being without a case for some forty years you've probably got a pretty nice shooter Parker 20 and that's probably about it. Get it tuned up if it really needs it and get out there and shoot it... a lot. If its in average condition its probably worth around $1600 - $2000 or so.
They're a lot of fun! 2 1/2" RST shells would be perfect for it.

And I thought only the late John Wayne starred in that Hollywood piece of fiction-- Great looking gun, wonder where Dave got the stuffed and mounted defunct bird for the foto shoot- I like the Trojan Parkers, but so many you see for sale are really "Project Guns"- like the 12 with the "UGLY--Morgan pad and others "altered"- Dave's Trojan 20 looks like a new one- or refinished by a real topnotch gunsmith- nice work indeed

Francis, that bird was still warm while Danny Suponski photographed it.

Dave made a Spiller-like shot on her as she curled up and around the scrub apples just below the rim of that old hillside pasture... I'll never forget it!

But we need to keep our "Pollock Parkerites" in line- can't have them shootin' "buuurds" like the late Burt Spiller-
