Default L.C. Smith Skeet and Upland Splecial

Just sharing photos of an L.C. Smith 12 gauge, 26", skeet & skeet, double trigger, ejector, three way safety, splinter forearm, hard rubber butplate. Blue book definitely has a different description of this gun. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos.

Sorry Bill,
I thought it was "Skeet and Upland Special", but it's just "Skeet Upland Special".

First time I've ever seen machine turned barrel breech surfaces.

Dean, gun is hardly shot. I had a fox that was like new with similar broaching on it.

Thanks Brett.

I'm not questioning its authenticity - just stating that is the first time I have ever seen machine turning of the barrel breech surfaces.
We sometimes see examples on high condition guns of 'fly cutting' of the breech surfaces of Parker guns. My experience is pretty limited however to Parker guns.

Are the barrels marked "Skeet Special"? As Bill was alluding to, Skeet Special was actually a Smith grade. L. C. Smith catalogs refer to it as a "Skeet Special" and the barrels should indicate so.

John,
My understanding is that they advertised the gun in 1928 as a Skeet Upland Special and then when they first printed it in the 1929 catalog they removed the word Upland from the name. My gun matches the pre production advertisement as far as the picture and description goes. I'm just pointing out that the gun is actually made as advertised and not as described n the blue book.
