Default "copper" color

I have recently been interested purchasing a GH damascus and i have a question about the barrels. The barrels have turned a orange/brown color yet the surface remains smooth and not pitted. I assume this is oxidation and was wondering if Edmonds could bring out the natural pattern. thanks

Dale Edmonds will refinish your barrels. He does a nice job on Damascus but he'll be the first to tell you that some barrels don't come out as nicely as others. He has done a few for me and I was quite satisfied however, the Bernard barrels had far more contrast (pure black & white) than the Damascus. Bruce Day may know about his back-log situation these days.

Andrew ; Dale did these barrels for me and I just got them back about a month ago ,I think they turned out great ,they are off of a # 2 frame ,EH grade , Dale did these four times he told me trying to bring out more color ,and definition, he said they were the toughest he has ever had to do ,this is what Dean is speaking of ,and Dale is the first to say ,some just have more definition than others ! Dale seemed dissapointed in them ,I was thrilled ,they were a dark brown and showed no pattern to speak of ,the only part of this I am sorry about is I didn't take any before Pics !

They look great. If anyone cam get them right, its Dale. I have a DH that should be at the dealer today and after duck season, will be on the way to Dale. I'll be sure to share the before and after pics. The barells in question are in good shape but dale will make the contrast sharper. I really enjoy talking with him on the phone too. great guy

If the barrels are an orange/rust color, I'd try boiling them in distilled water to see if they'll convert to black/blue.
