According to the internet you can ship ammunition to a New York resident as a gift/donation. Ammunition that is sold and ship to a NY resident is illegal and the purchaser is legally responsible.

Craig,
You must question the validity of my cite.
Do you have one more recent that contradicts the "stay" agreed to in 2015 (edited)?

After going to the RST web site, they have no restrictions about shipping to New York. Bob is evidently right about NYS law, however, some suppliers appear to keep the restrictions in place.

I have successfully ordered 6.5 Creedmor and shotgun ammo online and had it come right to my house. .22LR as well. From a few different places. Brownell's simply won't even look into it so I shop elsewhere.

Like many of us I’ve been trying to get shells from RST since before Christmas. They were hoping to have powder by Feb 26 for production. That didn’t happen. I just tried their website and they’re closed until Mar 1 “to get caught up with the backlog”. I’m worried about losing these guys.

Today I called all of our sporting goods/LGS in our area for shotgun Ammo availability. All said all sold out nothing on the shelves...! And in CA you can’t have Ammo shipped to your residence but only to an FFL...

What are you ordering?? I've received three orders since Christmas.

I had the opposite experience the other day here in south Alabama. Our Bass Pro actually had shotgun shells, 12, 20, 28 and 410 on the shelf. I bought four boxes of 20 ga Top Gun. Walmart wasn’t bad either. They had 12, 28 and 16 on the shelf, and, at the old prices! $5.50 for 12 ga Federal Game Loads. If you have an Academy near you, they are also doing a pretty good job. Ours had 5.56, 9mm and a bunch of other stuff in stock. Not a huge amount, but it was there and not too badly priced. A 200-pack of Winchester 62gr was $100.
