Default Could use some help on primers

I recently started reloading 16 gauge shells (both 2.5 and 2.75) on MEC 600.
Currently loading once fired 2.5" Cheddite hulls, 7/8ounce lead #8, SG16 wads, 17 grains of PB powder (acquired almost 40 pounds) and win. 209 primers. It produces a very low pressure, mild shooting load that patterns well out of both of my 16's. This load has been tested.
I have ordered 1K new primed cheddite 16 gauge 2.5" hulls and have not been able to find any load data switching out only the primer to Cheddite.

My question to this group is:
1) does anyone have any tested data.
2) educated guess in regards to pressure when replacing Win. 209 with Cheddite primer.

Thank you in advance,

Byron

Byron , that load is so low pressure that I see no problem with making the primer change.

I had that load tested with both the W209 and the Fed209a , both loads were so close in velocity and pressure I would consider them identical . The Fed209a primer is usually considered the hottest primer.

Mark,

Thank you for the prompt reply. It may have been you that posted my original load that had been tested by Tom. I found the load on 16ga society. If that was you thank you for that post, and thank you for the current comments.

Thanks again,

Byron...

Yes I posted them on the 16ga forum . I have shot this load quite a bit and really like it .

Loaded it with the cheddite primers also .

Also loaded it with 18grs .

I readily sub win 209 for cheddite 209 in loads, and vice versa. I've also never had any trouble with the fit or loose primers between the two . I've thought about trying that load, but only have 1 lb of PB

For about 10 years all I used were Cheddite primers and just used data for Win or Rem primers - they're all so close , especially at mild pressures, it doesn't make any difference which one you use. I have now gone to just Win primers because two of my old SxSs, a Parker and Remington hammer gun, both pierce Cheddite primers. They seem to have a different material used in the primer. I don't feel like paying a gunsmith to make new firing pins.
