Default Carteret Gun Club....

Does anybody know when the Carteret Gun Club finally closed up shop?

There's very little about the club I can find online which is surprising since it was such a famous place.

The Carteret Gun Club was at Garden City, Long Island, NY. In the June 7, 1902, issue of Sporting Life, is states they had been looking for new grounds in New Jersey and had settled on Hetfield Farm about one mile from Westfield, NJ. This of course after New York enacted that "silly law."

By October 26, 1903, there were matches being reported from the grounds at Westfield.

It appears they returned to Garden City as a "clay target" club in 1904 --

I believe it was 1912 when they had their 15th anniversary shoot. Not much on LA84 after 1905 or 1906. I also don't understand why we don't read more about them.

There was a trophy from one of those floating around the Philadelphia Gun Club. I think Kaas had found it somewhere and repurposed it into one of their awards. Very cool items!
