The top rib is engraved = W.R. Pape . New Castle-Upon-Tyne. Winner of the London Gun Trials in 1858 1859 1866 & 1875

I have a well used GH 12 gauge on a #1 frame that was a little loose on the locking bolt. I used Jack Rowes method (mentioned earlier) of peening the rear locking lug and it worked beautifully. It's hard to tell anything has been done to the gun.

This gun has the quality of a London best gun....I have took some short cuts with utility guns but I will pay to have this one properly corrected. I just got done cleaning and inspecting the barrels & bores....they are so nice and chime like church bells. They are proofed for 1oz nitro, chambers have been opened 2 3/4"...nice job and I can shoot modern 1oz game loads. This will be a nice light game gun to use with RST-s in the grouse woods come October. Chokes are .006/.034 skeet-2 / X-Full I will use a spred-R in that tight barrel till the leaves drop. SXS Ohio
