I dont know a Ruly, but yes i grew up in Wilmington Delaware til i was 11. But i think my mom mentioned that name before, possibly Bobby.s brother. My great uncle Bobby Carpenter owned the Philidephia Phillies. My grand mother was Louisa Dupont . My great grandma Margereta Dupont. Im that last of the Dopunt/Carpenter bloodline. The youngest accept for my daughter..

I can tell you what adds to the gun's provenance and range of value is the documented story. Do you have pictures of your grandma using or holding the gun. Picture tells a thousand words. Also any stories you have that you can document really helps. Being that your family started off with a gunpowder mill tells an interesting story.

There are several folks here that no doubt are interested in small bore Parker's and they will help you out best they can.

I can say this and it could be misleading and as someone also suggested you might need to talk to an honest professional that specializes in gun appraisals. There is a 28 ga that has a strong grade and condition that is listed at $40k, again that is an asking price and not certain how that compares to your gun and it may or may not be a reasonable price expectation. Very hard to say. We were all just mentioning the other day that gun was on the market at that price and no takers for over a year so there is that.

Personally if you think your daughter would ever appreciate it or would even like to own and shoot her great grandmas gun then, you have a pretty obvious path. Great story though.

Also it was Magereta Duponts gun before Louisa. Magereta was my great grandma, not Louisa. Put my grandma instead of my great grandma accidentally.

Then they were def related. Im still trying to learn my history myself. I did have it appraiser at a gun show by a gun collector and he priced it at 45 to 50. That was without Heritage. I dont have any pictures. But i have proof that i am who i say i am and Margereta Dupont was my great grandma.

Sounds like a great gun with some neat family history. Looking forwrd to see pictures and hearing about this gun.
I also have a duPont shotgun ordered for TC duPont. The wood is in the process of being refinished. I am posting the picture of the Parker research letter on this gun.

You should see about ordering a letter on your Parker.

Kenneth: were Margaretta Lammot Carpenter (du Pont) your great-grandmother, and Louisa Andelot Carpenter your grandmother?
