That is a challenging project. I have seen some as well at shops and have not thought much about them and their history. Every one of us started off with an air gun probably.
Big Lewis and Clark buff and I had never heard this before until the other day that they had air rifle on their trip that could shoot multiple rounds. Seems they always made a point to demonstrate the gun and to also conceal how many they had, which was only one. Probably one of the biggest reasons Indians left them alone and got along with them since they thought it was magic. |

It might be worth ordering an online subscription to the Blue Book on Air rifles and pistols.
