Default California quail hunt

Just returned from a fantastic visit to a cold Northern California chasing Valley Quail. Huge coveys and sporty shooting in the sage brush and rim rocks.

The DH 12 gauge and RST 7.5's performed well as expected.

Great hunt. The DH looks great the pics show that it shoots good too. The dog work must have been outstanding.

Looks like y'all had a great hunt.

I have a covey of those California Quail that run around out back. They raise babies and bring them around every year. They're always up scratching around the bird feeders. My wife would throw a fit I went after them.

Maybe all of those California 32" smallbores were not duck guns after all.

Thanks for all of the comments! It was truly a unique experience for this Georgia boy.

The DH is a 1908 model with factory 26" Damascus tubes although the pictures do seem to make them look much longer.

A few more pictures...
