I hit a milestone this year in that I didn't buy a single gun in 2019.

I'm trying to deal with my Parker substance abuse issues & am on the verge of selling off most of my gun gatherings to get down to the few that I like & use the most.

I'm not saying I'm done in any way, I'm just working on keeping things in perspective & on an even keel. I have a Model 21 20ga upgrade project in the works & am telling myself that it will be the last major upgrade or restoration project I'll do.

Only one for me the AHE 20 with a factory set of 28 gauge barrels.

Steve Barnett sold a nice 12 PH on a 1 frame for me. Purchased a DHE 20 with 30 inch barrels in Jan of 2019 and since then I have been a good boy convincing myself that I do not need anymore guns, just more birds to shoot at. Am well aware that need does not have a damn think to do with gun purchases. Am always looking, love the 12 ga DHE 1/2 frame on Guns International. It is rare and eye candy plus it rings my bell. I think that there are some greats buys out there in English boxlocks. Steve has G. E. Lewis that fits me to a T and I have never owned a gun from the other side of the pond but do I need a another 2 1/2 gun ? know that I have not stopped buying just slowing down.

This year I added two Parkers to my collection of “shooters”.

First was a beautiful little VHE 28 gauge Skeet gun that needed nothing done but to shoot and enjoy it.

Second was a 20 gauge Trojan in very decent condition that needs nothing more that the wood to be stripped and refinished with Timberluxe. I am very happy that this Trojan is early enough to have the rib extension.

Both guns were advertised here by PGCA members.

Held firm for the first ten months of the year and didn't buy anything. Then in November got a little solid rib Remington Model 17 and for December have a very late Remington Parker on the way.

Got a very nice high condition 20ga DH with straight grip, 26" barrels with a weight of 6lb 1 oz with letter and hang tags and perfect dimensions for me from PGCA member Josh at the Vintagers.

I bought one Parker in 2019. It’s a GHE 12 gauge with 32” barrels, beaver tail forend, straight grip stock, single select trigger, twin ivory beads and still has a lot of condition. Perfect dimensions for me. There is also a 16 gauge I want but haven’t had success contacting the owner ... yet!
