Small town gun shows - you just never know. Went to buy some pies if the ladies had them again this year - and they did. Got a cherry, apple/saskatoon berry and a five berry pie. Now that the important part was done, I wandered through the displays. And then I found a peach - and not a pie. A W. Kavanagh hammer gun made in Dublin Ireland. It was in beautiful mechanical condition. It is from the later 1800's but I have yet to figure that out exactly. Bores are mirror, damascus pattern is lovely but could be brought back better than it is. Nice engraving. Jones underlever holds the action and barrels very tight. I can't wait to give the wild pheasants a go with this gun in the fall. A few pics for your enjoyment. Cheers, Jack
