Default VH Grade Value?

Went to a shop yesterday and looked over a pretty decent parker. I know value has been dropping for many of them lately, but if it's a good deal I may buy it. The asking price is $3500, which seems quite high to me. It is a 12 bore made in 1900, full/mod chokes with 28 inch barrels on a size 2 frame. Let me know what you think!

If I'm reading the serial # correctly it is a VH 12 gauge with 30" barrels and 0 extras. It's impossible to give an accurate estimate of value from a few pictures, but unless it has some really special history of ownership it is likley worth significantly less than the asking price. Join PGCA and buy a beautiful D grade (2 grades higher than the V grade you're considering) 12 gauge currently offered for sale to members for significantly less.

While not a bad job, the gun has been completely restored.

Actually I would say it's been refinished rather than restored.

You are the master of semantics. The difference may be in how far its come, and the pin pricking on the trigger plate would suggest it's come a ways.

RUN AWAY! (Then join here to learn. Then send me $1000 for advice offered, and buy two such Parkers with the remaining $2500.)

That is a horrible buy. The price is 3 times what it should be.

I sold a similar gun in original condition for $1500 in March of this year. This one should sell for less than that.
