Default Parker 8 Gauge Fans D grade

I know nothing about 8 gauge Parkers, but this one is priced a lot less than others I have seen.

about two years ago ? there was two Parker 8 gauge hammer less guns with 38" barrels I think they sold for 19k each . They had steel barrels but dont remember the grade .

I seen this gun earlier , I was wondering what was the deal with the knot in the buttstock ? Doesnt seem like a imperfection that Parker would overlook ?

I too scratch my head at $13k being way below normal pricing for an 8g. I think in the current market it may be right about a good retail number for a fluid steel barreled graded gun. Since usually what I see is that a lower grade composite barreled gun will isually be in the $6-8k range.
These guns are very difficult to determine the market on now. A lot of heavy hitters in big bore collecting have passed on and sales show it.
All of Middlebrook’s guns were sold over the course of 2 or 3 auctions last year and a lot of the guns sold for less that one may have expected.

Was Middlebrook the guy that owned 5 or 6 of the LC Smith 8's ?

Think the guy I'm thinking of lived in MD or PA and died 3 or 4 years ago .

Daryl Middlebrook. He lived in Central NY. He passed about 2 years ago.
He was into Big Bore guns in quite a way. I do not think he was an LC Smith guy though.

Craig, your guy is a different guy. There are still a few big bore guys alive, but the fellow you are thinking about is surely not with us any longer. We are keeling over at a great rate.

The guy I’m speaking of had a bunch of 8’s not just Smiths . Two of his 8’s were what made up the LC Smith calendar about four years ago . Jent Mitchell sort of told me about this fellow .
