Default Hopkins and Bros

I just received a letter from the Cody Museum which states one of my 12 gauge Foxes was shipped in 1917 to the Hopkins and Brother in Onancock, Va. Wondering if anyone had any information on this retail store. Thanks in advance.

Might want to look at this site . Many records exist.

Onancock was the main trading town on the bay side of Virginias Eastern shore, one the few with deep water. Regular steamboat service to Baltimore & Hampton Roads. Before the railroad came to the shore majority of items sold would have come from Onancock. Supplied the Atlantic coast islands & fine Duck Hunting.

I get up near Onancock some, shoot sporting clays on a farm course about 25 miles away. This time of the year weather depending . If you call & find some in person looking is needed let me know. Doubt if the records are digital but you never know.

The last Naval battle of the Revolution was fought off Onancock, same day the treaty of Paris was signed. Sleepy little town now nice place to visit
