One observation that I see is that the checkering on the wrist is not original. It has been recut at one time. The forend was not touched. Likely both the stock and forend were checkered from the factory. You will notice heavy wear on the forend and the stock as well.

The gun may not be a "wall hanger". It could be very much shootable. It is a solid gun July the looks of it, but Condition is very poor.

In regards to value, it would be pretty low on a retail scale. The value as a family heirloom would be higher to you and your family.
