Default 2 3/4" shells in 2 3/4 chamber

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find it.

Should there be an issue using 1 oz 2 3/4" target loads in a 2 5/8" chambered #2 frame gun?

IMO, no. Been doing it for years. Keep the pressure on the low side and you should be fine.

Measure the length of a fired case for the 1oz load to see if it's actually 2-3/4". Some aren't, despite what it says on the box.

Parker Brothers, and Fox chambered guns meant for 2 3/4" shells at 2 5/8" by factory memo and specifications.

Parker hang tags... "chambers 2-5/8". Use 2-3/4" shells."

From the horses mouth.

I skirt the issue by using 2 1/2 inch shells in everything.
