I've taken my own guns everywhere I ever went.
Ramsey Russell He's a close friend of a close friend and says this place is where he wants his ashes scattered. It's so good they don't even feed it, all natural marsh, all natural hunting, waterfowl only. The one problem, it's 10 hours from the airport in a van IF the roads are dry.

Destry,
Check on the guns, I did a stag hunt about five years ago, and the outfitter discouraged from trying to bring our own. Delays in airport, stories of guns held up, etc. I shot one from the outfitter. Not my preference but didn't want the hassle.

Ramsey said no problem, particularly with break open guns. I think you've just gotta know who to slip $20 to, the entire country runs on graft.

I've been to Argentina twice, and took my gun both times. I wouldn't go if I had to shoot rental jammamatics. That's just me though.

I took my gun about 10-12 years ago, but I understand that it has become more complicated or sketchy to take your own gun. I'd sure make sure the gun was well insured

Agreed. I took a Beretta 687 SP II Sporting 20 ga. both trips. It could be replaced with no problem if lost. I cannot imagine a better gun for high volume doves. Not one hiccup, with about 9000 shells digested in 16 shoots. One shell every 6.7 seconds of time on the field.

Mine is a Beretta 20 Gauge Silver Pigeon. Worked perfectly, and is still tight as new.

Once you trim down to fighting weight you'll be good for another 20 years or more. I am 87 and have hunted for 78 years straight except for the time I was on "vacation" in Korea in 1952. I did miss this last year from knee problems but doing physical therapy so I can get out again with my sons and grandsons next year.
