Default 3 frame 12g. DH.

I just wrapped this one up. The gun is a 32" 12g. DH on a 3 frame. The gun had seen a lot of hard use over the years as one can image a lot of guns like this did.

The buttstock and forend were not original. And the forend was a pretty crudely made beavertail. The owner wanted the wood properly replaced. So that was done with a piece of appropriate Circassian Walnut which was selected from my inventory by the owner. The dimensions were made to match other guns that he owns and shoots well. A silvers pad was chosen for the butt since the gun is going to be regularly used and the owner preferred it.

The barrels were also re-blued and the trigger guard Nitre blued to freshen it up. A number of parts also had to be replaced along the way.

Here are some photos of how it turned out.

Getting those drop points on the stock cheeks correct is difficult. Brian gets them right.
