Unfortunately, no trout were harmed during the taking of these photos.

John, we were just there on Sunday. Water was low and clear. Caught some nice brookies before the sun came out and they turned off.

We were there Sunday afternoon. Nothing was biting.

Elaine and I had planned a guided trip to the Davidson in conjunction with this year's Southern. Unfortunately, it rained enough the day before our planned visit for the guide to cancel because of high water. Maybe next year. Those pictures sure make it look inviting.

Late April, early May, would be a great time to visit the Davidson.

The unemployment situation has hit Brevard hard. Lots of restaurants and other businesses were closed or had limited hours due to staffing shortages. There was a small stream in front of our rental you would never notice, but Harry caught two trout in it.

Are the cicadas to blame? I know they are/were thick in some parts, and were expected in western NC. Once the fish start feasting on those juicy things, the bite dies off.

Haven't seen any sign of the cicada invasion down this way.
