Default Greetings from the Great Lakes

Hello all, I am very excited to read your experiences with these great guns. I spend each autumn in the Michigan grouse woods with 2 setters and either a 1906 Parker VH in 20 gauge or a 1911 Lefever DS in 16. I have also recently acquired a Parker Reproduction in 28 gauge, but it is my 6 month old daughters future grouse gun, so I only have a few years to break it in for her.

Welcome aboard. Where do you hunt in Mich (I mean, more than "In the woods", but less than GPS coordinates.)

Hello Jason - Welcome to the Forum.

Upland birds pursued with Parkers and Setters is the height of the year for a lot of us.

That's a very nice picture... even if my neck does hurt from looking at it

Welcome to the forum Jason. Where in MI do you live? There are several of us from MI that get together at some of the SXS shoots held around the state. We also get together to make sure our Parkers see the coverts and the dogs keep us in line.

Welcome Jason, there is a SxS shoot this weekend in Grand Blanc, there will be a couple of Parker guys there. There are quite a few guys from the Parker group that are in Mi and I think we all hunt grouse. What area of the state are you located in?

Jason, welcome to our extended "family". You will like it here. I spend 2 weeks a year in the UP, and like you, my favorite grouse gun is a VHE 20,
I also have a Lefever 20 DS that will see use. Partial to setters myself, have 3, but any breed that does its job is admired, pointer or flusher.
PS: Upland lowlife--that is great, wished I'd thought of that moniker.
