Default GH 16 Resurrection...

A while back I bought a forlorn GH 16 O Frame..Straight Grip..Joe Dreish sold it to me..along with an original near mint VH O frame straight grip stock---which he said I would need. The barrels were rough...BUT...I had a near perfect set of barrels...28"/double ivory/ perfect bores. Joe said the stock was rough..and he sent pictures.. It had a pin through the head...cracked through the wrist...a chip at the toe..and missing slivers at the top tang..and the lower tang. Other than that..it was nice..The stock went off to Brian Board....who called me and asked why I was mad at him for sending such a mess...My barrels went to Bill Schwarz.. Who fitted them and did the refinish. The barrels and receiver were 5,000 numbers apart..and they snapped on near perfect.Brian made a cut from the edge of the toe chip to the top of the heel, added a Silvers pad..Screws are very nice..and just a touch of color. . I have an identical one with a pistol grip..I'm calling it finished...j..

Mills.. It seems that the key word is..YET !. I too have a 20..26"..straight grip. Can't beat that combination for a bird gun. I still have the VH O frame stock that I got with this gun. It's about perfect...Switching stocks on a Parker was a $300 lesson one time...although I'm tempted to try it on my 20 Trojan..with the slim aftermarket BT forend. It's 26"..F/IC...double ivory.. A straight grip Trojan ??????....
