Default Faux Single shot almost finished

After a long break to cure hammer gun procurement fever, got Miss Piggy's rusted barrel sanded down, primed and hydro-dipped in the damascus film.
The 18 inch 45 long colt insert is in. Express sights go on this week. Hog hunting will begin next month.

Some may recall Miss Piggy's stock transformation from dinged up plain white poplar el cheapo plainess to Circassian walnut via hydro-dip.

a few viewers warned that she might not be safe...with that hairline crack in her hydro dipped receiver. Turned out to be a hair from my poodle bird dog stuck in the paint. It's all fake, after all.

Her barrel was a rusted shaft...got her filed and polished and primed and fitted her sights before hydro dipping it. Jim Kelly up at Darlington Gun gave me some express sights after having a good laugh at my project.

The final step is putting this fellows pretty face in a black cartouche on the bottom of her receiver. So she'll know what she's meant to do.

That's going to be one very cool gun when your project is completed. Is your base gun an H&R-NEF-Rossi type single shot shotgun?

It's an old NEF 12 bore that belonged to my farm manager who passed away several years ago. A friend found it in the barn, rusted and dirty. He said something like "here's one that'll never shoot again..."
