Default Is it swifter to have a Lifter

Gentlemen;

What would the brethren think the use and value of this Parker lifer would be? It has 29" Damascus barrels that are supposed to be 30" according to the book and it was made in 1874, around B 2250. The book says it's a 12, but it's a 10 and other than the barrel being clipped an inch it appears to be in pretty good condition.

Any guesses?

Larry, it looks like it has the potential to be a great shooter in very decent shape.

Do I see daylight at the top between the barrels and standing breech in the third picture?
Please excuse me if it is an illusion and the gun is tight on face.

Very nice example of a early (type 1) Parker front action. With it having flush hinge pin, 2pc. lifter and keyed forend. The gun shows honest wear and patina but looks to be in great shape for being well used.
Looks to be a Grade 1, but it's hard to tell from the pics.

I have one very similar to yours I got for $450.00. I think that was a good buy. That was a couple years ago, but prices are down, not up today. You can try $1,000.00 reserve if you don't mind wasting your time. I'd think 5 to 600 would be average.

Did anyone see the Hammer Gun that was on Ebay in 3 separate parts recently? The Barrels, forend and back half all in different auctions. The stock was broken through at the wrist. I was keeping an eye on it thinking that if I could get all 3 for under a total of $500 it would make a good project since the seller said that the lockup was good and the bores were nice.
They ended up selling to the same bidder for over $900 total! That gun complete would most likely not have brought that much.
