Default Stock Shield Placement

Question for the experts out there - were the VH stock shields always put in the same spot relative to a datum on the stock? I.e. - X" from the butt pad or trigger etc? I lined 3 of mine up and they all seemed to be in the same spot, at least you would need a measurement device to tell. Mostly curious - it was an observation I had when the standard rotation in my safe put all the VH's next to each other for the first time.

Default

Generally speaking, they were centered halfway between the rear of the PG cap and the toe of the butt.
With a straight grip the shield would be a bit closer to the point of the checkering of the grip.

This would be for guns without a recoil pad.
