Default Component pricing

A friend and I drove out to the PA State Trap shoot today to get some reloading components. Check out these prices:

Powder per 4 or 8 pounds as indicted, wads and primers per 5000 (first time I've seen Remington primers FS in many moons). West Coast shot is of course per 25 pound bag.

Yes, CAC had two large van trucks at Elysburg, both stuffed with components and pallets of 12-gauge shells for the Trap shooting venue. It's been years since I saw that variety of powders and components available in one place and at one time. I'm changing over to Alliant powders for my more modern shotguns and it was good to get more E3 which has been ~impossible to find in 8 pounders.

The powder and wad prices are about what I pay locally. The primers and shot are a good deal as I just paid $135 for a sleeve of Win 209's and Eagle shot is $35.

About the same prices as Greentop Ashland VA. Much less than a few years ago.

I only checked one item after your comment about Green Top. CAC $124.00 for Alliant Green Dot and Red Dot, $160.00 at Green Top. I assume other items at Green Top are similarly higher than CAC. I have bought from both and find CAC to be a much better deal. CAC delivers to our club for a very small fee. Checked another item I use in quantity, Claybuster wads. CAC, $7.84 a bag. Green Top, $10.99 a bag. CAC is definitely not in the same price neighborhood as Green Top.

Green top had a percent off sign on shotgun components week before last 10 or 20 %. Have to look for the receipt to find what I paid for 8 lbs of Red dot. It was under 150 with tax as I recall.

Should not have commented on component pricing, it's a sport all it's own. My point was walk in store prices are lower than they have been. Supplier working events is always going to be less, in this case not much if at all.
