Default The "Other Guys" got the Geese

This morning was the NH Inland Waterfowl Season opener. The weather was perfect, light wind, overcast, occasional drizzel. We gave our Parker's the day off today, we shot a two man limit of 6 birds using my Remington 1894 AE 10ga and Scott using his Grade 2 NID Super Ten. I shot 1 1/4 ounce of Bismuth #1 while Scott shot 1 3/8 ounce of Bismuth 2's.

Oh, and it turned out that three of the geese were married

Yes, I had an NID day, after the goose hunt I grab my grade 2 NID 20 ga and went after some wood ducks, Ended up with a pair. Than home for lunch and than grabbed my lab Parker and my 12 ga NID 26 in. open choked gun for phez, after a slow start I ended up with 2 birds with the dog pointing 7 for me. This vacation thing is working for me! Now what to do tomorrow

Wow very nice. Great day thanks for posting the pictures. Can't wait to get my 10ga Elsies out this season. Three bands make it a red letter day.

The Short Tens with relatively light loads by today's measure really put the smack down on the big birds inside of 40 yards. We had good shots today as they cupped over us standing in some corn as they looked at the decoys. Put the bead on their beak and pull the trigger, 5 were dead in the air shots. Oddly enough the one crip was double tagged with shots from both us and came down with a broken wing.
