Default Fall 2018 Journal of the PGCA

I got my copy of the Fall 2018 PARKER PAGES in the mailbox yesterday. I settled down to read it a while ago.

Right out of the gate, on page 4, there was Mike Franzen’s article in his series of ”on the road-style” pieces that sail under the banner of Parker Chronicles. It was about Niles Oesterle and turkey hunting -- the calling; the call-making; the personalities involved and the selection for the hunt of the more venerable of Parker guns.

If Mike’s piece had been the entirety of the Fall reportage of the PGCA quarterly I would have been a satisfied customer, conveying as it does so well those inescapably transcendent qualities that register within us of Parkerdom.

And, that’s just the first article.

Mike's articles are always the highlight of the Parker Pages for me.

My daughter told me today’s mail included my issue of PP. I suggested that if she left ASAP, she could make Greenville by nightfall. So much for my waning powers of persuasion.

I’ll drive up with a new issue but you know what the price will be, don’t you?

It was a good read. I got a special measure of enjoyment out of Mills' article on beaters.

Your article was great too, Bill. I also re-read an earlier issue with your article on Dave Fjelline. Also great and Dave is a great guy to do business with

I'm glad the PP finally made it to Colorado yesterday! Great articles by all. The Buell gun restoration article was interesting. I still wonder how the pitting was removed from the metal (i.e., did they weld it to build up the area or sand it somehow)?

Ken, Brad Bachelder micro-welded each and every pit.
