Default Hammer gun teal

Able to drop a couple nice teal last weekend. Been somewhat of an odd start to the duck season in our area of northern Wisconsin. First couple of weeks of the season we have been seeing many ringnecks and megansers, and very few woodducks, teal and mallards. With September being so warm, it was very strange seeing the ducks that usually don't come through until mid October on opening weekend, and very few of the local puddle ducks. May just be a local phenomenon, so we'll see how the season plays out.

Nice! I think I saw some bluewings when I scouted. Might be gone by morning though, it's supposed to get into the 30's tonight.

The blue wings were still in Quebec last week. Normally they are gone by the end of September. I have shot them near Calgary during the last week in September as well. Like most things they are where you finds them...nice work with a hammer gun. We shot 120 ducks last week and only two teal...

Thanks much. It's a grade 3, 10 ga, #3 frame, 30" barrels full/full, fishtail toplever. Built 1888.

The load that did the trick that day was my early season load of 3 3/4 drams fffG, with 1 1/4 oz #5 bismuth in brass hulls.
