Default One year later...

Some of you remember I posted a note in 2011 that my 3 year old labrador was killed in April of that year when he was hit by a CDOW fish truck. I replaced him with the yellow femal pup in these pictures, She was born in June 2011 so is just now starting to hunt. The picture of Josey on our dove outing this week shows her as a big girl. I couldn't be happier. I have taken it slow with her training and must say she may be the best I have had. She never even thought of breaking shot. I even stopped her about thirty yards from me and she sat and watched me shoot one and did not budge until I gave the OK. I feel very fortunate to have her.
Also, doves were somewhat down but my buddy and I managed to bring home possession limits of 30 ea. Was pleased to make a double and a tripple, yes, one with right barrel two with left. Got the whole flock! Bad news is I was shooting my A grade Fox 16, sorry.
Last pic shows the beings that will inherit the earth have good taste in Whiskey!

I know that feeling. My dog was 6 but he had diabetic issues, including blindness. Where I am it's an offense to kill a praying mantis
