Default help

Was breaking down one of my guns for cleaning ( an ejector gun ) Removed the forearm and then broke the gun open to remove the barrels. The barrels do not want to come off and yet the barrels will not close back on the receiver. How did I screw this up ? thanks in advance.

Sounds like the cocking hook and cocking lever may be stuck. How far off the face will the barrels open? If they would close, I would say the ejectors are tripped and need to be reset. But if they won't close, I don't know how to fix it. Some of the real gunsmiths here may be able to help.

I had an issue kinda like this about 4 years ago . It was on a VHE #1 frame 12 gauge . I eventually got the gun apart and it turned out the forend lug was cracking from the barrels . This was a gun we'd gotten from Jerry Amos 40 years ago and I had shot quite a bit . Seems to me I'd always had issue with getting the forend on blah blah blah . Anyway I sent it to Giacamo (I'm sure my spelling is incorrect) and they reset the lug on the barrels and blued them in a fashion that would be similar to what was original and shipped it back , think it cost me $500ish .
