Interesting to see how they were still figuring out the engraving patterns on the early hammerless guns. Mills' early examples really look like P's with birds added.

That wood has some very nice figure. It was common that the Grade 2 Parkers exhibited nice figure on one side of the stock while the other side was rather plain.
I may be wrong, but your stock appears th have had a recent re-application of some sort of finish. A complete strip and refinish of the wood, as well as expert re-cutting of the checkering would make that figure really stand out. I am not one to suggest doing so to an original finish but, as I said, yours appears not to be the original finish. .
